This was a fast weekend and quite a hodge podge weekend. It was filled with lots of events and errands, but has definitely left me feeling more organized and refreshed. Though I wish I had one more day… don’t we all… I’m grateful for these past two days.
The weekend started bright and early Saturday morning with DC Divas football practice. Saturday was our first day wearing helmets and boy was it challenging. Wearing a helmet just changes things. It’s heavy and changes your view of the field. As the center, I have to adjust quickly as I can’t allow it to affect snapping the ball.
As we’re now wearing more gear the coaches are able to challenge us more physically and put us through drills in which we hit one another directly. Practice has definitely been taken to another level. Next Saturday we’ll be in full pads so I can only imagine how much more physically exhausted I will be.
I was POOPED after practice Saturday but was grateful to enjoy a few minutes on the couch with Theodore before heading to a tax appointment.
After our tax appointment, Neal and I headed over to our friend’s Amy and Chris’ house for dinner. Amy is a super Mom, with three kids under under the age of 4! She made us an amazing meatball soup for dinner, which was filled with meatballs, chickpeas, spinach, and mushrooms! It was awesome! We had a wonderful time with their whole family and are very grateful to have them here in the DC area.
This morning, Neal and I took Theodore to the dog park bright and early. I love being able to take Theodore to the park and to give him the chance to play with other dogs in the area. Drinking a hot cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee while at the park hit the spot too!
Around 11AM, Becky came over for lunch and a movie (Bad Teacher). Before cooking lunch we headed over to Dawson’s Market to pick up a few goodies, including this Raw Coconut Butter. I’ve yet to try it but will definitely let y’all know what I think when I do try it.
For lunch I made a whole wheat pasta dish with sautéed mushrooms, spinach, and garlic. It was such a filling lunch and definitely hit the spot!
After hanging out with Becky, I tackled a quick barre workout on FitnessGlo before heading out to run errands with Neal. I’m really enjoying FitnessGlo and am excited to tell y’all more about it this week!
Neal and I spent the rest of the day running errands. After stops at Costco and Giant, I ran into my nail salon to get a little wax done. I started waxing my eyebrows and my upper lip when I was a teenager (DON’T START IF YOU’RE A TEEN) and have had to continue it ever since. Though I look like a fool right after I’ve had it done, I always feel so much better after getting wax done.
The rest of my Sunday has been spent cooking for the upcoming week and writing.
It’s going to be a busy week, what’s new, but I’m feeling pretty good about all that needs to get done.
