I love long weekends. Today I’ve had a mix of emotions, thinking tomorrow was the start of the work week and then realizing I have Monday off. After a morning with the puppy I headed to IHOP to meet up with my dear friend Keka.
Keka and I were both college athletes at George Mason University and met during our junior year of college. It’s so beautiful to see how much we’ve changed and how different our lives are 6 years later. Today I got to meet Keka’s adorable son Josiah and loved all of the baby talk. Quite different than our talks during college.
I treasure my friendship with Keka more than I think she knows. She knows me so well and always has just the advice I need at the time.
Now breakfast at IHOP can be tricky. The county I live in actually requires that chain restaurants put the calories next to each dish. Most IHOP dishes are around 1000 calories, so finding something loving than 500 calories was important to me. For breakfast I turned to their Simple and Fit menu and ordered the turkey bacon and swiss omelet made out of egg substitute totaling 420 calories. A perfect pick for a perfect breakfast with Keka!
After breakfast I headed over to AC Moore to buy some frames for some prints I’ve been meaning to hang. With the labor day holiday, I got some great deals on frames and ended up purchasing 3 frames and 2 diploma holders. Check out my art…
a cherry blossom time lapse collage from my hubby…
Hail to the Chief art from my sister Alison…
and a coffee cup poster from my mommy! I am so happy to have gotten these prints framed and can’t wait to hang them up soon.
It was a wonderful Sunday and ended with a girls date with Becky (more on that this week).
