After our beautiful and fantabulous wedding, Neal surprised me by taking me into DC for our wedding night. I never could have imagined where he was taking us, so when we pulled up to the Jefferson Hotel DC I was so incredibly excited!
The Jefferson Hotel DC was built in 1923 and was converted to the hotel in 1955. From the moment you walk in you are welcomed by luxury, elegance, and a colonial ambiance.
When we arrived at our room, I never could have imagined what was behind those doors. I was expecting a luxurious room but the marble hallway in our room led us to a suite that we could call our own for the night.
To the right of the hallway was a ellaborate bedroom with a 4 post king size bed, formal seating area, and stunning wardrobe.
Off the bedroom was a full bathroom, complete with a deep tub. The bathroom was awesome and included a TV in the mirror, full sized shower (which Neal said was amazing), and a toilet room.
To the left of the hallway was a full living room.
The hotel also left us a lovely note, champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, water, and short bread cookies. It was wonderful!
After our tour, we settled in and enjoyed the treated given to us by the Jefferson.
Sadly, my day in my dress had to come to an end. So I enjoyed a few more moments in it and then started to break everything down.
The hotel was absolutely amazing and being right next to the White House and Washington Monument was such a treat!
In the morning Neal and I headed down to The Greenhouse for breakfast.
Although we weren’t leaving for Europe for another day, the bistro setting made us feel like we were already there.
The breakfast was just divine! We both ordered omelets, which came with a side of roasted tomatoes and potatoes. The tomatoes were just about the greatest thing I’ve ever had! They were perfect along side the omelet.
Our stay at The Jefferson Hotel DC was everything I could have ever hoped for from our wedding night. The hotel was so welcoming and the luxury was such a treat! I can’t wait to return to the Jefferson on one of our milestone anniversaries.
