My parents always told me not to mess with my asthma and I have been reminded of that these past six days. I have had asthma since I was a little kid and have it under control 95% of the year. Last week my allergies really took off and by Wednesday my lungs were tight and congested. When I am having asthma trouble it affects my entire body. I am weak, lethargic, and tired. Essentially my body shuts down due to lack of oxygen. Thankfully my inhalers do help but boy am I ready for allergy season to be over. I miss being able to take a full breath and not wheeze.
Despite being under the weather this past weekend, I had a lot of fun! Saturday morning I went to breakfast with my dear friend Laurie and her sister. Laurie is my day of wedding planner so we met up to walk through everything. Saturday marked 3 months until the wedding, so creating a day of plan with Laurie made it very real! We’re so excited for the day to be here and to celebrate with family and friends!
Saturday night Neal and I went down to Dupont Circle for Becky’s birthday dinner at The Melting Pot!
We LOVE The Melting Pot but boy did Becky’s group of friends make the evening fun! We ate lots of cheese, plenty of protein, and our share of sweets!
We had a blast with everyone and can not wait to meet up again! Sunday morning Neal and I were up bright and early for Easter service up in Maryland. The weather was just perfect!!
After church we ran errands, watched baseball, took a nap, overslept, and then headed over to Chris and Laura’s for Easter dinner/Becky’s birthday dinner. We dined on ham, cheesy potatoes, and salads.
After dinner we settled in and played a game of cards before diving into Laura’s wicked good cheesecake!
This weekend was wonderful and although I wish it were longer, it made me so grateful for the people in Neal’s and my life right now.
Now I know today is supposed to be “weekly plan/week 2 weigh in” day but I forgot to weigh myself before spin this morning. Be sure to check back tomorrow morning for week 2 results and my weekly plan.
I hope each of you had a wonderful weekend and that your Monday is great!
