Season’s greetings from
sunny Cleveland, Ohio, home of the Christmas Story house. Yesterday was actually sunny and beautiful, but today the rain rolled in and lots of snow is to follow.
Neal and I drove up to Cleveland Christmas day after opening up a few presents. I love Christmas for many reasons, but opening presents just makes me so happy! Seeing all of the wrapped presents, seeing loved ones open up gifts, and seeing what other people got for you… it just makes me so happy. My favorite gift from Neal was a 13 class pass to Cycle Studio in Alexandria, VA.
This studio is unique in that they are both a spin studio and a yoga studio. Some of their classes are half spin and half yoga, which is such a unique combo in my opinion. Here are some of the classes I’m looking forward to taking…
Cycle-Strength: This class starts with non-stop, heart pounding workout on the bike and ends with 30 minutes of strength moves and power stretching to build your body and calm then mind!
Hard Core: Perfect blend of Cycling plus Abs training set to the best Rock classics of all time. Studded bracelets and black eye-shadow optional!
Tri-Ride: If you’re looking for a pure Athlete’s ride, you’ve come to the right place! Join Tri-Athlete and organizer of the Old Town Tri-Athlete Club, Matthew Tourville, on a ride that will have you going the distance! Caution!!! Even if you have never spun before….this class will have you pulling a wheel up to the pros…. So no matter what ability level, you won’t know until you TRI ! Let’s Ride!
- Ripped Revolution: A little burn and earn! This 75 minute blend of cycle, strength and stretch moves will have you feeling stronger and pedaling longer.
I’m eager to get back to DC, for many reasons, but I just can’t wait to take some of these classes (especially because some of them are during the work day and this is my chance to take them). Once home, I have a hefty to do list.
- Work on my graduate school capstone (I need to CRANK this out!!)
- Overhaul my apartment: Clean my kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, closets, etc.
- Create a new training program (running and weight lifting)
- Sign up for a few road races
- Think about 2012 and the goals I have for the year
