After gaining weight during week 4, I took a good hard look at my habits. While I love the Weight Watchers Simply Filling program, the reality was that my portion sizes were just too big. Eating in moderation and intuitively is the goal, but at this point I have to recognize that those habits just don’t occur naturally. They are habits I am going to need to work on over time.
Last Friday my sister Alison and I dedicated ourselves to counting EVERYTHING! My goal was still to eat as many Simply Filling foods as possible but I measured everything I ate and logged the Points into my Weight Watchers App on my iPhone.
This week I ate all of my daily points, all of the extra points I get for breastfeeding, and 23 of my Weekly Points Allowance. I used some of my weekly points every day instead of using a bulk of them on one day.
For breakfasts this week I enjoyed eggs, cranberry English muffins, and a banana or oatmeal with fruit and wheat germ. Lunches this week were all over the place. I enjoyed salads, roasted vegetables with baked chicken, and cups of Trader Joe’s Roasted Red Pepper soup. My dinners this week were awesome! My sister really helped me to balance out my dinners and to eat more vegetables.
My workouts this week were NON-EXISTENT! I had plans to go to spin on Sunday and Thursday but it just didn’t work out. Going to work all day and then heading to spin at 6:15PM is tough. I just want to be home with my baby! I also didn’t get to the gym during lunch on Tuesday.

- Thursday – 45 minutes of weight lifting
I’ll be honest, I was a little nervous about weighing in this week. What if I counted Points religiously and didn’t lose any weight? My sister and I talked beforehand and agreed that no matter what, we were super proud of what we accomplished this week! I’m proud of achieving my goal of tracking everything I ate!
This week I lost 2.8 pounds, bringing my total weight loss to 4.8 pounds. I’m really proud of my accomplishments this week and losing weight was an added bonus!
Next week I hope to get my workouts figured out and to continue to track everything!
