This week I changed everything up! My weight loss over the last few months has been slow and steady, up and down, which I’m proud of considering the holidays were thrown in there and I’m breastfeeding, but with the new year I was eager to get into a healthier routine. This was my first week of meal prepping and it went extremely well!
On Sunday I prepared everything I was going to eat Monday – Friday. Every day I ate just about the same thing and honestly, it was great! It was so nice not having to worry about what I was going to make, how many points my meals would be, and what I’d be craving. I knew exactly what my breakfasts, lunches, and dinners would be and I was really content. I left the weekends unplanned, so we’ll see how this weekend goes. I wanted to cook a meal for Neal and I and to use up any leftovers from the week. As Neal and I are meal planning and grocery shopping separately, the weekends are my chance to cook for us both, which I love.
I also had a variety of snacks to choose from each day this week. Some days I ate them all and other days I passed on a few because I just wasn’t hungry. I also used some of my weekly points this to enjoy a work breakfast (2 eggs, 2 mini scones, and strawberries). Other than that, I stuck to my plan and ended the week feeling really great!
This week I also started my new fitness routine. As I’m no longer able to make week day spin classes I decided to join a gym in order to lift weights during the week. I’ll still be taking spin on weekends, but I’m really excited to be lifting weights again. As I weigh-in on Saturday mornings, my week officially starts on Saturday. Here’s a look at my workouts this past week. 3 hours and 30 minutes and 1,758 calories burned (I don’t know the AP for this).
- Saturday – 30 minutes Arc Trainer and 30 minutes weights (471 calories burned)
- Sunday – 45 minute spin class (500 calories burned)
- Monday – 45 minutes of weights (240 calories burned)
- Tuesday – Rest
- Wednesday -45 minutes of weights (282 calories burned)
- Thursday – Rest
- Friday – 45 minutes of weights (265 calories burned)
This morning I went to my Weight Watchers meeting and weighed in. I lost 1 pound this week, bringing my total weight loss to 6.4 pounds. I was really happy with the loss but I’ll admit that I thought I had lost more. The adjustment to weight lifting always affects my body, so hopefully I see a great loss again next week. I also talked to a few WW leaders about my use of Points each week and am going to make a few changes to my points (I’ll tell y’all more about that next week).
All in all, it was a great first week of 2015. Onward we go!
