Now THAT was an awesome holiday season! Sure I had a few slip ups, but this was the first holiday season in ages where I ended it feeling in control. The holidays are tough because they’re filled with amazing foods, foods that I don’t eat year round. Chocolates, cookies, hot drinks, booze, cream and butter filled sides, cheese trays… you name it! This year I enjoyed holiday foods in moderation and treated the rest of the time like any other day. Instead of throwing my hands up for 6 weeks or being super strict I decided to enjoy things in moderation. All in all, I’m really proud of how it all went!
Week 1 (week of Thanksgiving) – gained 3.4 pounds
Week 2 – lost 2 pounds
Week 3 – lost 1.8 pounds
Week 4 – gained 0.2 pounds
Week 5 (week of Christmas) – didn’t weigh-in
Week 6 (week of New Years) – gained 2.2 pounds
Total over the holidays – gained 2 pounds
Considering how much I could have gained, I’m really happy with where I stand today. I enjoyed Thanksgiving, made it through the holiday party season, and savored every moment our Christmas in Texas. It really was a perfect holiday season and I’m excited to move into 2015.
