We had a really wonderful weekend here in Maryland. We took advantage of the beautiful weather on Saturday, got a TON done on Sunday, and enjoyed a little day date on Friday. Weekends these days are so dependent on our kids moods, whether or not they nap, and how the weather is. At least on Saturday, we hit the trifecta, and on Sunday, both kids napped for almost 3 hours at the same time. That’s a win, win if you ask me!
Friday started off with an appointment down in Bethesda, but it gave Neal and me a great opportunity to go out to lunch afterwards. We absolutely love Gilly’s and since we were in that area, headed over after our appointment ended. I ordered my favorite sandwich, the roast beef, and a brown ale. Neal ordered one of their new sandwiches, which was also delicious. It was a fun little day date.
On Saturday, we got out of the house pretty quickly and headed up to Summer’s Farm in Frederick, Maryland. The weather was amazing Saturday morning and we saw it as the perfect opportunity to visit Summer’s Farm and to get Magnolia’s energy out before the Iowa football game.
To me, Summer’s Farm is a giant playground. They do have a pumpkin patch, but really, we’re there for all the activities. They have giant slides, swings, tractors, giant bouncy things, and lots of other fun activities. It’s just a really fun place to visit in the fall!
We closed out our Saturday with Iowa football and the Nationals NLDS game! It was a great sports day, which I needed after the Nats lost on Friday to the Cubs.
Sunday was a disgustingly hot and humid day, so we were inside most of the day. Magnolia and I did an early morning Target run and then both kids napped for almost 3 hours Sunday afternoon. It was amazing! Neal and I tackled a gazillion things around the house (including putting out my fall decorations), which was needed! Kinnick had a rough night last night, so I didn’t get as much done before bed as I had hoped, and then I was up with him most of the night. He is teething early, which isn’t fun, but I’m glad I’m still on leave and didn’t have to go into the office this morning, that would have been tough.
Today Neal is off work for Columbus Day, so we’re visiting Magnolia’s school and then I’m going to head into the office for a special meeting. The weather is pretty gross today, so hopefully it’ll give Kinnick a good chance to rest as he’ll be home most of the day.
We had a wonderful weekend and I’m really looking forward to next weekend (birthday weekend)! Here’s to a great work week! I have SOOOOOO much to get done this week, so I’m praying for lots of energy and efficiency.
