We had such a fun weekend! Going into the weekend we had zero plans, so it’s fun looking back on what played out spontaneously. Friday night was absolutely gorgeous, so we went for a walk as a family, played at the park, and then enjoyed dinner at home before putting Magnolia to bed. After putting Magnolia down, Neal and I enjoyed some mocktails and G.H Cretors popped corn outside while the sun set and then we watched Arrival. It was such a fun improtu date night and I loved the treats G.H Cretors sent us. Their popcorn is just delicious! We love buying the Chicago mix at Costco!
Saturday morning I woke up early and cleaned the main floor of our house. I washed dishes, cleared off the kitchen table, picked up the playroom, and opened all the windows. It was so nice being able to get things done before Neal and Magnolia woke up. Around 8AM I headed over to the car dealership to get some work done on our car.
While the car was in the shop, I walked over to Einstein Bagel for breakfast. I ended up ordering their veggie bagel sandwich, which was delicious and totally hit the spot! It was far from a breakfast sandwich, but super yummy!
Once home, Neal and I impulsively decided to drive up to Penn State to visit my sister. Friday was her birthday and we figured it was a perfect day to visit Penn State before baby boy arrives. Neal took Theodore out for a walk, I packed up our bags, and within 30 minutes we were in the car and on our way to Penn State with Magnolia.
Our drive went by quickly and Magnolia was a rockstar! She napped for about an hour and then played for the rest of the trip.
After arriving, we picked up my sister and then headed over to the Arboretum. It is such a beautiful area on campus and in Happy Valley. The weather was perfect and I loved being outside with my family!
After visiting the Arboretum we headed over to the Penn State Creamery for some ice cream. The line was long, but the ice cream was delicious!
We spent the rest of the afternoon/early evening walking around the campus. The weather was just perfect and Magnolia loved running around. It was a perfect day! By 7PM we were back on the road and made it home around 10PM.
Sunday we slept in until 8:30AM, which was AWESOME! I’ll miss mornings like yesterday once the baby arrives. The three of us hung out at home after getting ready for the day, enjoyed breakfast as a family, and then made a to do list for the day. Around 11AM we hopped in the car, stopped by the farmers market, ran into Target, and picked up groceries for the week at Giant.
Once home, we enjoyed lunch as a family and then Neal and I put Magnolia down for a nap. During her nap I folded all of baby boy’s newborn, 0-3 months, and 3-6 months clothing. I am so, so, so grateful for all the hand-me-downs we’ve received and am feeling good now that this laundry is all done. Neal and I also finalized our June budget and bought some things for the baby on Amazon. Sunday night we enjoyed dinner as a family, prepped for the work week ahead, and tidied up the house.
All in all, it was a really fun weekend! I loved our spontaneous Saturday and was so glad we got so much done on Sunday before the work week. The week ahead is pretty packed, but I’m feeling good at the start. Here’s to a great week (week 35 of this pregnancy!!).
