Last week was the most beautiful week here in DC, and after spending most of it in my office or with a sick kiddo, it was so nice enjoying the February sun with my family this weekend. Friday morning I closed out the work week with a great workout at OrangeTheory and a hearty breakfast. Friday was an absolutely gorgeous day and I enjoyed getting out of the office a bit between meetings and then Friday evening after picking up Magnolia from daycare.
Saturday morning we all woke up around 8AM, enjoyed a little breakfast, and then got ready to go outside. As Neal was going out for a long run, I loaded Magnolia into her Bob stroller and went for a really long walk. We walked 1.65 miles and then stopped at a park for about 30 minutes.
We closed out our walk, hitting a total of 3.20 miles. It was a great workout and a really great way to start our Saturday.
A little after noon, my sister arrived from Penn State (yay!) and we spent a couple of hours together before Neal and I went on a hot date. We both got pedicures and then grabbed some Starbucks before the the thunderstorms rolled in.
Saturday night, Neal and I went to the Iowa vs. Maryland men’s basketball game at the University of Maryland. I bought Neal the tickets for his birthday (or maybe Christmas), so we’ve been looking forward to this game for a few months. We were so, so, so thankful my sister came into town to watch Magnolia and for giving us a night out on the town.
The game was outstanding, we had really great seats, and the folks we sat by were hysterical. It was awesome seeing Iowa beat Maryland and enjoying a few hours with Neal at the game. After the game we walked back to our car, made our way out of College Park, and then grabbed dinner at Ted’s Montana Grill, which was delicious. It was such a fun night!
Yesterday was a quiet day. We all slept in until 7:30AM, enjoyed breakfast at home, and then got a few things done around the house. While Neal went out for another run, Magnolia and I relaxed on the couch and watched a little TV.
During Magnolia’s nap, Neal and I worked on our Financial Peace University homework and finalized our budget for the month of March. We also worked on organizing a few things in the attic before Magnolia woke up and we headed out to run a few errands. We swung by the dollar store, Whole Foods, and Giant.
We closed out the day at home, preparing for the week ahead. I prepared lunches for the week, finished our laundry, and made everyone dinner. It was a quiet day and we got a lot done!
I have a busy week ahead of me, but I’m really looking forward to what the week may bring. We’re entering conference tournament season for college basketball and March Madness is right around the corner! Here’s to a great week!
