It’s always bittersweet coming off of a great weekend. I’m definitely recharged, but I wasn’t ready for the weekend to end. I had so much fun with Magnolia this weekend!
My weekend started Friday morning with breakfast at First Watch with a friend. It was so nice meeting up early, catching up, and enjoying a nice breakfast. I ordered the veggie and goat cheese omelet, which was awesome. It came with a little salad and a piece of wheat toast.
After breakfast we headed over to the Montgomery County Fair Grounds for the Tot Swap. I was hoping to find a few things for the winter and ended up walking away with a 3T snow suit, a super cute corduroy jacket, a rain jacket, a Christmas book, and 2 holiday bows. It was a nice event and I’ll definitely look to sell things there next year.
I headed home just before lunch, had leftover veggie pizza, and then relaxed at home until I picked up Neal from the train station. We celebrated Magnolia’s birthday at daycare Friday evening, which was super cute, and then enjoyed an evening at home. We went for a long walk, ate a small dinner, and then headed to bed.
Saturday morning I woke up early, got a few things done around the house, and then went for a short run with Magnolia. I ran 2 miles and felt really good.
I threw together breakfast for the family, hopped in the shower, and then headed into work for a few hours. Once home, I made a big salad and then watched the Iowa game with Neal.
Saturday evening we met up with my parents who were in town and had a wonderful dinner at Ted’s Montana Grill. I ordered a bison burger topped with cheese, bacon, and a fried egg and then ate it without the bun. It was delicious! The fries were also really good. How adorable is this dress my mom made Magnolia?
Yesterday morning I woke up obnoxiously early for a weekend (5AM), but made the most of it. I made a cup of coffee, got a ton of work done for the upcoming work week, and made myself breakfast.
Once Magnolia woke up, we played and played and played!
After Neal got back from his long run, Magnolia and I ran to Home Depot to buy some mums for the front steps. We then ran to Giant to pick up a few things for the week ahead.
After lunch, I put Magnolia down for a nap and then watched the Redskins game with Neal. It wasn’t a good weekend for football in our house. After the game, I cleaned out our veggie drawer and prepped veggies for the week ahead. I made a ton of zoodles, a cucumber salad, and then sauteed butternut squash, zucchini, and mushrooms in a little avocado oil.
Magnolia took a really long nap yesterday afternoon, so she was eager to play outside after her nap. Magnolia has been really attached to me lately and I don’t mind it one bit. She held my hand for quite some time while we walked last night and I loved it!
We closed out the weekend with a delicious family dinner. While my mom was here she made this amazing Vegetable Lasagna. I can’t recommend it enough! It has a butternut squash bechamel… SOOO good! It’s just 11sp a serving too, which is a win win!
All in all, we had an amazing weekend. I’m feeling recharged going into the work week and am looking forward to spending time with my sister next weekend. Here’s to a great week!
