I’ve had quite an adventurous long weekend and am happy to be home for one more day. I can’t wait to tell y’all all about my trip to NOW Foods in Chicago last Thursday and Friday later this week. It was an absolutely amazing trip and I can not say enough good things about the company. They opened my eyes to the way foods should be tested and processed and have me thinking a lot about the foods we’re eating. I’ve always been more focused on how much food I’m putting in my body and this trip made me really think twice about what I’m putting in my body. Lots to think about and lots to share! Can’t wait to tell y’all more.
Friday afternoon, after a day with NOW Foods, I headed to the airport with the other bloggers attending the two-day event. There had been some nasty thunderstorms in Chicago both days, but the skies were clear by the time we arrived at the airport at 4PM. My flight was scheduled to leave at 7:40PM, but for whatever reason was cancelled.
I scrambled to get on a different flight, but sadly my flight was the last one to BWI that day. I switched to a flight to DCA, despite my car being at BWI, but that flight ended up being delayed 3 times.
We finally boarded our plane around 10:20PM and were ready to go for our 10:45PM departure, but we didn’t have a pilot. The pilot finally arrived at 11:30PM and we took off around 11:45PM. It was a long, long day, but I got into DCA at 2:20AM and made it home at 3:40AM (thank you, Neal!!).
Saturday morning I was up bright and early with Magnolia and was able to get a few things done around the house. When Magnolia went down for her nap I was able to get a long nap in as well. Neal and his Dad continued to tackle projects around the house and I’m just in love with the built-ins they designed and built!
Saturday afternoon we headed down to National’s Park for the Billy Joel concert. We found parking and then met up with some friends before heading to the ballpark.
Two lines of thunderstorms came through right around 7:30PM, delaying the show, but we had a great time. I kinda wish we had headed to a bar before the storms rolled in, but we had fun at the stadium before the show started.
Billy Joel was outstanding!! The first half of his concert is always great, but the encore is everything. By that point we were dancing on the concourse with my co-workers and hoping for just one more song! We got home around 1AM and headed straight to bed.
Sunday morning we said goodbye to Neal’s parents and then I headed to OrangeTheory for a workout with my friend Jenn. It was a killer workout, but I’m so glad I went. After 3 days of eating out and plenty of drinking, I needed a good workout.
Once home, I showered, made lunch, and then cleaned the house while Magnolia napped. After Magnolia’s nap we drove to BWI to pick up my car and then hung out at home until my Mom and sister arrived. They are in town this week, so I’m excited to have today and Friday to spend with them.
It was a really fun weekend and I started off today with an OrangeTheory workout. I haven’t been tracking my Weight Watchers Points, so I am eager to get back on track today. I am going to stick to eating only my daily points these next 4 days and hope that’ll help with getting back on the wagon after my time in Chicago and weekend with family.
Here’s to a good week!
