Gender– Neal thinks we’re having a girl while I think we’re having a boy. We’ll see in TWO weeks!
Movement– I felt a few flutters at the beginning of the week, but nothing since. I’ve heard it’s common to feel the baby irregularly until it’s bigger.
Maternity clothes– After last week’s Old Navy fail, I gave it another go and put in a new order. We’ll see if I get the sizing right this time.
Food cravings– Nothing I can put my finger on, but I have been really hungry these past few days! I’m starting to need to eat every 2-3 hours, which means I’m eating 5 small meals each day instead of 3 meals and 2 snacks. I end up having two breakfasts, one at home around 6:30AM (eggs) and then another at 9AM (oatmeal) when I get to work. I then have lunch, a big snack around 3PM, and then dinner by 6PM. I feel like I’m eating all of the time, but this schedule is working well for me.
Workouts– My workouts last week were awesome. Although swimming is tough on my lungs, I’m really enjoying my early morning swims. I also bought a Fitbit Flex this past weekend, so I’m trying to get more steps in during the work week. It’s really hard for me to get 10,000 steps on weekdays, so I’m trying to work on that this spring and summer.
Sleep– Sleep has still been great! I’m sleeping with a Bump Nest pregnancy pillow, which Neal hates, but I’m pretty comfortable each night. It does take up a lot of room, which is probably why Neal think we should get a king size bed. (love you honey)
Pregnancy brain– My pregnancy brain has been a lot better (in theory) since buying a new day planner. I bought the Simplified Planner by Emily Ley, which breaks down each day by hour and provides you with a place to write down to dos. The planner has really helped me to organize my days and tackle the never ending list of to dos in my head.
Missing anything– Sushi and beer if I’m being honest. With the weather getting warmer, a ice cold beer just sounds amazing.
Thoughts and feelings- Last week was great because I got my eats back in order BUT nausea crept back into my life last week. I don’t really know what caused it, but I had a few days where I was pretty nauseous. The Norovirus is going around DC, so I’m desperately trying to not get it. Being nauseous made me nervous, but thankfully I haven’t gotten sick at all.
With just two weeks until our anatomy scan, I’m starting to get incredibly eager to find out the gender, to create a registry, and to start planning the nursery. I am just so incredibly excited and somewhat wish we were able to find out the gender before the 20 week mark. I know it’ll be here before we know it, but I’m just excited.
Looking forward to– Finding out the gender of the baby and picking out a name with Neal
