Last night Neal and I did all of our Thanksgiving dinner grocery shopping! $130 later, I’ve decided that eating Thanksgiving dinner out at a restaurant is much cheaper and you don’t have to clean up afterwards! We got everything we needed….BUT I can not find a turkey breast! The two stores I went to last night were out.
I’m hoping this is a sign that I don’t need to cook turkey tomorrow, but still, how are all of these grocery stores out of turkey breasts? My mission tonight is to find a turkey breast. I just really don’t want to have to buy a full turkey for 4 people, 3 of which will not eat the leftovers.
- Full day of work
- Lunch with Sarah
- Workout at gym (40 minutes on elliptical)
- Pick up Turkey Trot race packet
- Find turkey breast
- Clean apartment (kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom, and put away laundry)
- Begin cooking for Thanksgiving dinner (layered pizza dip, roast veggies for Panzanella salad, bake pumpkin cheesecake)
In other news, I lost .2 pounds (point two) again this week through Weight Watchers. I lost, but I’m not losing as I had hoped. In all honesty though, my head just isn’t in the game right now. Life is really busy, which I know is an excuse, but I just don’t feel like losing weight is my focus right now. I’ve been great about counting my point during the day, but after work I just “make wise decisions” which I’m sure isn’t wise. I’ve just had a lot of nights out with friends, dinners out, and nights at home where I just didn’t have the energy to cook. I also haven’t been working out during the week as much as I have in weeks past.
I know I’ll get back on board… as long as I don’t quit, I know I’ll get to where I want to be! Weight Watchers also announced that they will be making some changes to the program (again) starting in December. I’m excited to see what changes they have made and to get some new material. Change is good and sometimes it is what you need to get a kick in the pants.
My Weight Watchers leader told me last night that losing.2 each week is great, especially this time of year. She also said that it can be really hard to lose weight what you’re training for a long race. Is this true? I know from training for the half marathon in 2010 that I didn’t lose any weight, if anything I gained. Neal says that I look like I’ve lost more than 2.2 pounds these past 4 weeks and that things I’m just gaining muscle from boxing, kickboxing, and our 15K training. I hope so.
Tomorrow morning, Neal and I are running the Alexandria Turkey Trot 5 mile race! After last week’s 10K, we’re kinda stoked about running another race. This race should be a lot of fun, especially since 2,600 people are running it! Only 10 more days until our 15K Hot Chocolate race!!
Questions for the day:
1. How does running affect your weight loss?
2. What are you most excited about for your Thanksgiving holiday?
3. Are you going Black Friday shopping?
