Hello from hot and sunny Dallas! Yesterday morning I woke up at 4AM and headed to the airport for my 8AM flight. Before leaving I made an egg sandwich as I wanted to avoid having to eat at the airport. It was super yummy and very filling! 2 slices of light bread (3sp), 1 egg (2sp), 3 turkey sausage links (3sp), and 1 slice of cheese (2sp).
My flight was super smooth and about half way through I had some jerky. I really like this brand, this flavor especially (4sp for the bag).
Once in Dallas I headed to the hotel, got settled into my room, and then took an Uber over to Whole Foods. As my room has a mini fridge, I thought it would be smart to buy a few things, which will reduce the number of times I have to eat out. I bought baby carrots, 2 peaches, 3 bananas, guacamole, rice crackers, cottage cheese, hard boiled eggs, a pre-packaged salad, a few bottles of kombucha, and some Boom Chicka Pop. I also made myself a salad at the salad bar for lunch and then headed back to the hotel.
I enjoyed my salad (12sp), some popcorn (5sp), and a bottle of kombucha (2sp) for lunch and then headed to my conference’s first session. I’m really excited to be here and really enjoyed yesterday’s sessions. Our day ended with a welcome reception, which is where I ended up eating dinner. I had a little salad (lettuce, cherry tomatoes, a little cheese, sunflower seeds, and ranch dressing) and 5 pieces of goat cheese ravioli. I had 9sp left for the day, so I tried to limit what I ate since I didn’t know the SmartPoints value for the foods I was eating. I also had a glass of wine, so I used Weekly Points for that.
It was a really good day and I’m really proud of my diet yesterday. I ate smart and am so glad I grabbed groceries at Whole Foods. I think it’ll make the weekend easier, though I have ever intention of eating some Mexican food while I’m here! Going to fit it into my Points.
