I had such a wonderful weekend with Neal and Magnolia! After a long work week, I fell asleep on the couch right after putting Magnolia to bed at 8PM on Friday. I was exhausted, but it felt great to get a good night’s sleep. As Neal was still in Iowa, I woke up early to take Theodore out, got Magnolia ready for the day, and then headed over to First Watch for an early mother-daughter breakfast with Magnolia.
I am really trying to soak up these last few months with just Magnolia and really loved going to breakfast with her. I ordered the Kale Tonic and the Market Veggie Goat Cheese Omelette. Magnolia had the kid’s pancake with Bacon.
After breakfast we ran to Homegoods, where I found a few storage baskets for baby boy’s room. We then got home, took Theodore for a walk, and settled in for nap time. I took full advantage of nap time, sleeping for almost 3 hours while Magnolia napped!
Neal woke me up after arriving home from the airport, but it was perfect timing as Magnolia was awake. We went for a short walk as a family, enjoying the first bit of sunlight we had had here in the DC area in 4 days! Saturday night we had dinner at home, put Magnolia to bed, and then I fell asleep on the couch (again, lol).
Yesterday morning I woke up around 7:15AM, got Magnolia ready for church, and then watched Curious George with Magnolia while enjoying a cup of coffee. After George, I made everyone breakfast and enjoyed the beautiful view out of our sun room.
At 9:30AM we headed to church and then went to the Olney Farmers Market afterwards for shopping and lunch. I love the Olney Farmers Market and knew it was exactly where I wanted to go for Mother’s Day. We walked around, enjoyed Empanadas as a family, and then headed back home.
Magnolia fought nap time after our lunch, so we watched a bit of the Nationals game from home and then ran to the grocery store. Of course, she fell asleep during the 5 minutes drive home from the grocery store, so we took full advantage and put her in the stroller for a long walk while she napped.
Magnolia slept for most of the walk and we finished at 3.22 miles! It was a great walk!
Our Sunday evening was really mellow. I snacked on hummus, pretzel thins, and Cabot Sharp Cheddar while Magnolia had dinner and then enjoyed a burger after Magnolia went to bed. Neal make delicious burgers, which was a great end to our Mother’s Day.
Although we had planned to watch a movie, I ended up falling asleep early. It was a really wonderful weekend and I am so, so grateful for Neal and Magnolia. I can’t believe I’ll hit the 32 week mark this week with baby boy, but I can’t wait to see him at our ultrasound on Thursday. Here’s to a great week!
