Today is Magnolia’s second birthday!! I swear, it feels like I just had her. After 3 days in labor, I’ll never forget the joy of seeing her on my chest and telling my mom and our doctor that her name was Magnolia. Magnolia is a strong, strong willed, energetic, determined, and loving child. She’s independent, but when she needs extra love, she lets us know. Even in my womb, she didn’t like being messed with, and that rings true today. I hope she’ll stay that way. I hope you’ll always stand up for herself, that she’ll never let anyone mess with her, and that she’ll continue as a strong, independent woman!
On Sunday we celebrated her birthday with an amazing homemade funfetti cake. I can not recommend this recipe enough! It’s an amazing cake! We’ve enjoyed the cake the past few days and tonight we’ll have dinner as a family when I get home from work.
Magnolia obviously didn’t realize it was her birthday today, nor did she know how hard it was for her momma to spend the day at work, but she woke up extra early this morning (random) and I enjoyed every second of it. God knew I needed those extra hours with her. Sitting on the couch together, watching Curious George, and sipping our beverages of choice (coffee and milk). It was Magnolia’s birthday present to me and I treasured it! A few extra hours of birthday time together on a work day.
I am also blessed to have my mom here! I can’t wait to tell y’all about her arrival, but lets just say I needed my mom here this week. It was the greatest gift she could have given us!
Happy birthday Miss Magnolia. You are my joy, my life, and my everything! I hope your 3rd year is sweeter than your second.
