I was talking to a good friend the other day about finding motivation to work out, and we got on the topic of workout gear. When I was a teenager and pretty insecure about my body, I would work out in large basketball shorts and an over-sized t-shirt. I didn’t feel good about myself when I was working out, and I think that really took away from my workouts.
When I made the decision to change my lifestyle and to start losing weight, I also had to start wearing workout gear I felt great in. If I was going to wear frumpy workout clothes, I was going to feel frumpy when I was working out. Finding motivation to work out, in my opinion, can start by buying and wearing workout gear you’re excited to wear. Rarely do I put on my workout clothes and not work out, so I try to find workout clothes I feel great in and use those clothes as motivation for when I’m having a hard time getting a workout in.
On Saturday I headed over to Dick’s Sporting Goods to shop for some new workout gear, keeping the fall in mind. My hope was to find a few workout tops that I could wear in the summer and then use as layers in the fall and winter, as well as a new pair of tights.
I love shopping at Dick’s Sporting Goods because they have such an amazing women’s section with brands like Nike, Adidas, Lucy, Under Armour, and Calia by Carrie Underwood to name a few. The only thing I wish Dick’s Sporting Goods had is a plus-size section in store. They do sell plus sizes online, but I think it’d be great to have a section in store.
I’ve been following Calia by Carrie Underwood on Instagram for a while now, but Saturday was my first time trying out her line. Let me tell y’all, it’s absolutely adorable! Her clothes are so comfortable and come in great colors and patterns.
What workout gear would you buy at Dick’s Sporting Goods?
