December always seems to bring with it weird bouts of winter weather here in the DC area. Sunday was our first winter storm of the season, bringing with it snow and ice. Instead of letting the storm take over the second half of my weekend, I embraced it and made the most of the day. Here’s a day in the life: snowed in edition.
7:35AM – I woke up without an alarm, which is one of my favorite things in the world. I love allowing myself to wake up naturally.
7:50AM – Bundle up and took Theodore out for a long walk before the snow started.
9:00AM – Return from our 3 mile walk, just when the snow started to come down.
9:15AM – Feed Theodore, started a load of laundry, and lit a few candles around the house.
10:00AM – Made breakfast for Neal and me. Sauteed ham, bell peppers, and scrambled eggs; tortillas for him, coffee for me.
10:12AM – Watched a little of The Nightmare Before Christmas with Neal, who had never seen it before.
10:45AM – Took a shower and got into my Santa pajamas.
11:30AM – Started baking a 2 layer cake for Neal’s birthday (which is today!! Happy Birthday Neal)
12:30PM – Caught up on my DVR; watching Pioneer Woman and Trisha’s Southern Kitchen before the Redskins game started.
2:00PM – Heated up some leftover chili for lunch.
2:45PM – Bundled up and headed over to the movie theater to see Frozen.
3:00PM – FROZEN!! (Super cute movie!)
5:00PM – Headed back home through the wintery mix.
5:42PM – Neal put on Elf while I folded laundry, did the dishes, and blogged.
7:30PM – Last load of laundry!
7:50PM – Facetime with my sister Alison
9:00PM – Made myself a cup of peppermint tea
9:15PM – Puppy snuggles while reading in bed
10:30PM – Bedtime!
