Today was a weird day. It started off weird and I’m just ending it feeling a bit blah. The high of the day was first thing, going to OrangeTheory for my second workout of week 1. The workout was really good and boy am I feeling it in my shoulders. For those of you who don’t workout at OrangeTheory, you can find most workouts on Reddit.
After my workout I showered and got myself and the kids ready for the day. The day got weird when Magnolia’s bus didn’t show up, so I had to scramble to get the kids ready and in the car. I dropped Magnolia off at school, dropped Kinnick off at daycare, ran my Wegmans for some school party treats, and raced home for a conference call.
By 11:30AM I was back in the car, headed back to Magnolia’s school for a celebration. My original plan was to drop Magnolia off at daycare afterwards (half day at work), but she was super emotional about it. We headed home, made lunch, and settled in for the afternoon. I worked from home while Magnolia napped and then we headed back to daycare to get Kinnick.
It was just a weird day. Meals were weird as we didn’t have a lot in the house and I gave into having leftover cookies I brought home from the party. I should have left them at school and fully recognize setting myself up for failure in those moments. I tracked the cookies and moved on, but I was bummed I gave in. I recognize being stressed, tired, and overwhelmed when I decided to have a cookie.
The day is done and I can learn from it.
Breakfast – Leftover zucchini (on the bottom), ground beef, and smashed kidney beans
Lunch – Tortilla topped with caramelized onion hummus, turkey breast, and lettuce
Snack – Pretzel thins, hummus, and 2 cookies (not pictured)
Dinner – 1 cup of homemade tuna mac: pasta, tuna, veggies, and cheese (forgot to take a picture)
