It’s hard to believe that 2014 is right around the corner! I’m excited about 2014 for so many reasons, but I think the start of the New Year makes turning 30 in October a reality!
I am by no means scared of getting older, but it makes each moment that much more precious. I seem to care more about my daily habits, what habits might need to changed, and how those habits affect my future.
The start of the New Year always makes me think about my goals and my dreams, but as I approach 30, I also find myself rethinking what it means to get older. Get Old, an initiative developed by Pfizer, challenges people of all ages to rethink what it means to Get Old and take a more active role in their health and quality of life at every age.
Unlike years past, my 2014 resolutions are not just focused on the year ahead but also on how today’s decisions will impact me as I get older. Aging is inevitable, but the activities I choose to participate in now will help me as I Get Old.
2014 New Year’s (Daily) Resolutions
— Be kind to myself every day.
— Treat others how I would like to be treated every day.
— Love with all of my heart every day.
— Exercise every day as part of my 365 Day Fit Challenge.
— Eat as much “real food” as possible every day.
— Wash my makeup off every day.
— Floss twice a day, every day.
— Drink at least 64 oz of water a day.
All of these goals are realistic and can make a huge impact on my life, my health, and my aging as I Get Old. I have a few other goals, but I need to do a bit more research before adding them to the list. Sleep is another HUGE goal of mine, but I know it’s unrealistic to resolve to get at least 8 hours of sleep each night. Instead, I can make it my goal to unplug by lets say 8PM, in hopes that I’ll get ready for bed, read a book, and get to sleep earlier.
