Currently: After a wonderful October, filled with birthday celebrations and a beautiful Halloween day, I’ve pivoted towards Thanksgiving and Christmas. I am all about spending 2 full months celebrating, which is one of the reasons I put our Christmas tree up just 4 days after Halloween. I’m holding off on decorating it, but there’s just something special about having a tree lit Christmas tree up as we approach Thanksgiving. I am traveling for work this weekend as NCAA basketball season kicks off, but I’ve started putting together a list of things I’d like to do these next two months with my kids and family. It’s such a magical time of year and I’m incredibly excited, especially as my kids get older. They make holidays so much fun!
Current Workout: Last week I completed OrangeTheory’s Hell Week! I loved completing 5 of the 8 workouts and earning my Hell Week t-shirt. Although I’ve worked out at OrangeTheory for years, this was my first year competing for a shirt. It has hard and I was really proud of myself for pushing through and doing 3 of the 5 workouts back to back. Last Friday I also tried out a local CrossFit gym. I don’t know if I’ll be joining the gym, but I really enjoyed the workout. I’ve been itching to lift heavy weights again and am exploring my options.
Current Obsession: We’ve loved going for long walks around the lake, especially these past few days as the leave for change colors. It’s an amazing sight and although our night time works have come to an end thanks to daylight savings time, I am hopeful we’ll be able to go for long walks each weekend as we look towards winter.
Current Book: This week I started reading Brene Brown’s Dare to Lead. So far, I’m loving it. I would recommend any Brene Brown book, but this book was exactly what I needed.
Current Gratitude: My sister! I am so thankful she lives here in DC now and that I am able to spend so much time with her! She’s a true blessing and I’ll forever be thankful for this season of life together. It’s also special having an aunt near by for my kiddos. They adore her!
Current Drink: COFFEE. All day. I have moved away from my iced espresso and protein shake these past few weeks and am enjoying black coffee with half and half and non-fat lattes.
Current Beauty: I love the sunsets after Day Light Saving Time and the start of the new year. They are always so vibrant this time of year, which is welcomed as we come to terms with how early the sun sets these days.
