Celebrating 33!

Although my birthday was a week and a half ago, I just had to share how amazing the day was. Going into my birthday, I felt really good about turning 33. I feel like I’m 33, which for the most part is a good thing, so the number doesn’t scare me. I don’t know if it’s having 2 kids, celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary, or the life I’m juggling, but I feel like 33 well defines where I’m at in life. Plus, the numbers geek in me loved turning 33. 33 with a 3 year old and a 3 month old… heaven!

On my actual birthday, Neal surprised me by taking the day off work. I had planned on enjoying the day at home with Kinnick, but Neal had other plans. I started off my birthday with a killer workout at OrangeTheory, working out with my dear class mates. I hadn’t been to OrangeTheory in almost 2 weeks, so I felt it, but it was the perfect way for me to kick off a new year!

After getting cleaned up and Magnolia to school, Neal loaded up the car and drove Kinnick and me down to Bethesda. I had no idea where we were going, so I was beyond thrilled when we arrived at The Woodhouse Day Spa.

Neal was amazing and watched Kinnick while I enjoyed the spa between feedings. I changed into a rob and relaxed for quite a while before my treatment.

Neal bought me the signature seaweed leaf pedicure, which was 2 hours a heaven. I seriously don’t know how I’ll ever get a traditional pedicure again. It was literally heaven!

The pedicure included various scrubs, masks, massages, and a seaweed wrap. It was amazing.

After my treatment I fed Kinnick and then we headed over to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch. We had so much fun, especially Kinnick, and enjoyed a delicious birthday lunch. Afterwards I assumed we’d head back home, but no! Neal booked me a TWO HOUR massage at another salon! I couldn’t believe it! The massage was a reflexology massage with hot stones PLUS a 30 minute foot massage. It was great!

That night we hung out with the kids and enjoyed a piece of cheesecake before heading to bed. I had such a wonderful birthday and was so spoiled! If the day wasn’t enough, Neal also bought me a few Disney DVD’s I was missing from my collection and an electric foot massages.

33 may be off to a stressful start, but my actual birthday was heaven. I am so thankful for Neal and how special he made that day. It was exactly what I needed!
