After college, I started investing more in myself. At first, my focus was weight loss, but over the years, wellness moved beyond diet and exercise. I began to see all of the things that contributed to my wellness and grew to appreciate the little things.
To be honest, wellness was a lot easier when I was single and had more time. I had the freedom to do what I wanted, when I wanted. I didn’t realize how easy wellness was back then and honestly wish I had made it a priority sooner. As a wife and mother, my time just isn’t my own, but I’ve had to learn how to prioritize my wellness, finding joy in the little things.
Busy Mom Wellness is something I am passionate about, helping moms find ways to take better care of themselves and make themselves a priority. Through the Busy Mom Wellness posts I hope to share ideas, tips, tricks, and personal favorites that contribute to total wellness. I hope y’all enjoy! Oh, and please share your wellness tips and tricks on the Coffee Cake and Cardio Facebook page.
1. Have y’all heard about Lularoe yet? I am slightly obsessed with this clothing company and am so glad my dear friend Krystal introduced me to it! Lularoe sells really adorable leggings, dresses, skirts, and tops exclusively through consultants. Lularoe is unique in that it sells 15ish clothing styles that are sold in various fabric patterns. Lularoe only produces a certain number of pieces in each pattern/fabric, which makes many of their styles unique. I am personally in love with the leggings (Tall and Curvy), Irma, and Amelia. Be sure to check out Krystal’s Lularoe Page! You’ll love how these clothes make you feel.
2. I think every mom should have a bottle of dry shampoo in their bathroom cabinet. Game. Changer!! After a long day or a crazy morning, it’s amazing what a little dry shampoo can do for a mom who just doesn’t have time to wash/dry/style her hair. I never appreciated dry shampoo until I became a mom. It’s the little things. (My favorites include Suave and Amika)
3. Enjoy an evening cocktail. Whether you’re enjoying a glass of wine while you fold laundry or you’re inviting a friend over for a margarita after the kids go to bed, enjoy a little downtime after a long day. I’m a big fan of setting a weekly date with a friend and switching houses each week. Why not enjoy a weekly TGIT date with a friend with a BOMB DOT COM Golden Margarita cocktail from Costco?
4. Spring has sprung! Enjoy some fresh air. Maybe it’s just me, but after months of staying warm inside I have to remind myself to get away from my desk, house, etc, and enjoy the crisp spring air. I have a really hard time getting away from my desk during the work day, but I’m determined to focus on this piece of wellness as the academic year comes to an end.
