We made it!! We survived the big move and are incredibly happy to now live in our new house. It was a long weekend (literally and figuratively), but we got a lot done and created many memories.
Our long weekend started Thursday, Neal’s birthday!! I started the day with a 5AM workout at Orange Theory, made breakfast for Neal, took Magnolia to daycare, and then headed over to the new house to meet the cable guy. I moved things around in the new house while waiting for the cable guy and then headed over to Ted’s Bulletin with Neal afterwards for his birthday lunch.
Neal and I love going to Ted’s Bulletin for breakfast, so it was fun having lunch there for the first time. I ordered the Reuben and Neal ordered the bacon grilled cheese and tomato soup. It was awesome!
Thursday afternoon we moved 3 loads of stuff into the new house and then headed back to our old house to get cleaned up. Thursday night Neal and I went out to dinner and a movie, which was really fun. We saw the Snoopy movie, which was really cute. After the movie we packed up a few more things around the house and then headed to bed.
Friday morning we woke up bright and early and headed over to Uhaul at 7AM. By 8AM we were loading up the Uhaul and by 12PM we had moved all of our furniture. It wasn’t easy, but I think the toughest part of moving is moving all the odds and ends. We grabbed sandwiches for lunch and then packed up the odds and ends for a few hours. That was definitely the toughest part.
We finished our move at 5:30PM and then raced to return the Uhaul and to pick up Magnolia. It was a realllllly long day, but we moved the entire house and were so glad to be done!
Saturday morning I rolled out of bed and saw this amazing sunrise!
It was such a perfect way to start our first full day in our new house. I headed to the Ugly Sweater Run with Magnolia (more on that later) and then used the rest of the day to unpack. Saturday we got the living room all set up, which had been filled with boxes and lots of odds and ends.
Sunday morning my Dad came over to visit and then we finished putting together Magnolia’s room and the kitchen. The house is still all over the place, BUT we’re getting there. It feels good to unpack and to see what we needs and don’t need. I have a big week ahead of me, but I’m really looking forward to getting back into a groove. I was really, really active these past 4 days, but I ate out a lot. I’m looking forward to getting back on track and to feeling like myself again.
Here’s to a great week!
