I’ll be the first to admit that this post is out of left field but sometimes you just have to roll with the ideas and thoughts that pop into your head. Worst case scenario, I can blame my pregnancy.
Every blogger has a different reason for why they started publishing their thoughts, feelings, and life online. No matter the topic, I think most people who turn to blogging do so because they find value in what they want to share and the audience their words could reach.
When I started Coffee Cake and Cardio back in 2011, I had no idea what I was doing. I didn’t know what I wanted to talk about, how I was going to organize my thoughts, or even what it meant to be a blogger. My friends and family were supportive, but even they were confused by what it meant to be a blogger in this day and age.
As time went on, I found my stride. I knew I wanted to share my journey to lose weight, my adventures around DC, and my quest to live a happy and healthy life. I started writing more consistently and began connecting with more and more readers as time went on. Before I knew it, my blog had become more than just a place for me to share my thoughts. Coffee Cake and Cardio had become a part of my life.
Being a blogger is more than just sharing my daily thoughts, feelings, and experiences online. Being a blogger has given me hope. It has shown me how many people in this world want to be better and how many people are invested in learning from others’ successes and mistakes. There’s a lot of pressure that comes with putting my daily life out there, but I love it! I love how my readers push me and make me want to be a better example.
Blogging is really a beautiful reflection of my life. As my world changes so does the face of Coffee Cake and Cardio. I had no idea what my blog would be like after starting a family but what I’m learning is that it has just evolved with me and so have my readers.
I am extremely excited about what the future holds and thus how Coffee Cake and Cardio might grow and change in time. Not only will I become a mom this fall, but I’ll also start my “body after baby” journey. Being pregnant has made me incredibly sensitive to how women view themselves before, during, and after pregnancy and I look forward continuing to share my experiences moving forward. My goal after the baby arrives is to get back down to my lowest adult weight and to continue to work towards my health and fitness goals including a few surprise goals I have up my sleeves.
Being a blogger and all that comes with it is an amazing blessing in my opinion. I had no idea how Coffee Cake and Cardio would change my life, but I’m really grateful to call myself a blogger. The reality is, bloggers are just regular people who have stumbled upon a way for them to share their lives and loves with the world around them. Most of us are still trying to figure out what we’re doing but we’re having a lot of fun along the way! I know looking back that I am truly a stronger person than I was three years ago and I’m so grateful to have it all documented here on Coffee Cake and Cardio! Thank y’all, as always, for reading and for supporting me along the way! I’m really excited to see what the future holds.
