This postpartum update is long overdue, but it’s a good reflection of where life is at with an 8 month old. The changes that occurred in Magnolia’s 8th month were mind boggling. Our little baby isn’t so little anymore and it’s bittersweet. I’ll admit that I miss that 10 pound baby who enjoyed sitting in her bouncy seat and sleeping in her mommy’s arms.
During Magnolia’s 8th month she became confident in her ability to sit up all by herself and did away with the army crawl. She became this independent little girl who was eager to learn, to grow, and to do it all on her own.
Halfway through my 8th post postpartum I decided to stop dieting, which I’ve talked about here, here, and here. The first half of the month was spent weighing and tracking every single thing I put in my mouth and although I was losing weight, I was unhappy with the path I was on. The freedom that came with “not dieting” was amazing and it pushed me into my 9th month postpartum with a new joy.
Now, was I happy with my weight at the 8 month postpartum mark? Not really. I really wanted to be closer to my pre-pregnancy weight by that point, but I am working on being kind to myself and focusing on what I am achieving. In my 8th month postpartum I ran a 5K with Magnolia, lifted a lot of weights, and continued to take spin each week.
Here are my recaps from months 1-6
