Today marked the start of the 2015-2016 academic year! I kicked off the day with a 5AM Orange Theory class, which was amazing! As a new customer I received 2 free classes through their website, which gave me a chance to try out a 7PM and a 5AM class. This morning I started the class on the treadmill and then moved over to the weights. We spent 30 minutes on the treadmill (sprint intervals) and then had a weight/rowing circuit for the last 30 minutes. It was killer. I really love Orange Theory but it’s a little pricey. I haven’t decided if I’m going to buy a few classes each month, but I’d love it.
After getting home I showered, got ready for work, and made myself a smoothie. In a blender I combined 1/2 a frozen banana, 1 whole white peach, 1/2 cup cashew milk, and 1/4 cup strawberry Greek yogurt.
I’ve honestly been slacking in the “food prep” department the past 2 weeks, so I decided to restock my office with foods for the work day. It’s crazy how quickly the work day goes by some days and how hard it can be to get a lunch break in. Keeping a variety of foods at my work desk helps when I’m in a pinch. I change up the flavors and brands of these foods, but almost always have these foods on hand at work. I can have oatmeal with almond butter for breakfast, baby carrots and hummus with my lunch if I’m still hungry, and yogurt with granola if I need a late afternoon snack.
Today I grabbed a Quest bar to tied me over until dinner as I had a late meeting at work. It was just what I was craving and a yummy snack.
