Thoughts and Feelings – I felt a lot better this past week, compared to how I felt during my 32nd week of pregnancy. Last week I was able to workout, without the soreness, and I slept much better throughout the week. It was all together a much better week!
Unlike my first pregnancy, I really haven’t gotten that “nesting” instinct. Everything was just so new with Magnolia and I really did have lots to do and prepare around the house. This time around, I probably should get things done, but goodness, I just haven’t had that same energy to get things done. I have a pretty good to do list going, but with the weeks dwindling, I really hope I find some motivation. I’ve reconfigured my to do list for June and have written out some things I’m going to ask my mom to help with and things Neal can tackle. I’ve also taken things off my list that just don’t matter at this point.
I will say though, I am cranking stuff out at work. I have a pretty hefty to do list and have broken it down by week. I am trying to get the most urgent things done first, just in case the baby decides to come early, but my goal is to have everything done by June 29.
Overall, I’m grateful for a good week. I can’t believe we have 7 weeks until my due date!! Once you hit 30 weeks, it really does fly by!
The Bump –
Movement – The baby is starting to move less, but he definitely has his active times. He’s most active late afternoon and evening and then again in the middle of the night.
Symptoms – I’m definitely not as comfortable at this point in pregnancy as I was with Magnolia. Otherwise, I didn’t have any unique symptoms in my 33rd week. My hips and groin are sore on occasion, but I’m not in pain like week 32.
Choosing Baby’s Name – We’re down to two names!!! We’re going to keep the names a secret until his birth, just like with Magnolia, but I’m not too sure we’ll decide until the baby gets here. We’re really split on the two names, so we’re thinking of meeting the baby first. We’re excited!
Third Trimester To Do List Progress – Last weekend I was able to tackle the loft. We’ve decided to hold off on moving Magnolia to her big girl bed since she’s totally content in her crib right now. Since we won’t need the crib for a while, we’re ok holding off. I’m also going to hold off on some decorating until my mom gets into town at the end of June.
Things left to accomplish this month…
-Choose baby’s name!!
-Decorate big girl room (hang curtains, hang pictures) – I’m going to wait until my mom arrives next month.
-Transition Magnolia to her new room!! – We’re going to hold off for now!
-Clean our loft (it has become a storage area and is a mess)
-Decorate our master bedroom (consider buying a bed frame for our new(er) king size bed)
-Finalize maternity leave plan – Need to complete this next week!
-Create a plan for return to office after short term disability leave (6 weeks) – Need to complete this next week!
Appointments – I didn’t have any appointments last week, but have one this coming week (34 weeks)
Diet – I’ve definitely had to eat less at each meal. The baby is still sitting really high, which pushes on my stomach. This pregnancy I’ve really had to push myself to eat plenty of veggies and that’s continued. With Magnolia I craved veggies during the second and third trimester, but not with this baby. Meat, dairy, and cheese. I’ve been trying to have veggies with each meal and to throw in veggies with snacks, which went well this past week. I’m still LOVING strawberries with Triple Zero yogurt (which they sell at Costco now!!).
Food Cravings – Last week I was craving sandwiches!! I bought some yummy sandwich rolls, Applegate lunch meat, and some swiss cheese. Super yummy! I will admit, I can’t wait to drink beer and eat sushi again!! Countdown is on!
Workouts – I got some awesome workouts in last week!! I felt great, was able to push myself, and wasn’t sore afterwards. Win, win! I hit my step goal each day too!
Thursday – Rest day
Friday – OrangeTheory
Saturday – 2 mile “race” at the Germantown 5 Miler (finished in 35 minutes!)
Sunday – Walk with Neal and Magnolia
Monday – OrangeTheory
Tuesday – Rest day
Wednesday – Rest day
Sleep – I’m still sleeping on the couch, which kinda stinks, but I sleep so much better on the couch than in my bed at this point. Our couch has recliner chairs, so I usually switch between lying down and sleeping in the chair mid night.
