The Bump – The baby has grown a ton the past few weeks. I am very visibly pregnant now and I’ve definitely had to say goodbye to almost all of my pre-pregnancy clothes. It’s really amazing how different I am carrying this baby than Magnolia. This baby is so incredibly high and is kicking more towards my back than Magnolia did.
Movement – Baby boy moves a lot first thing in the morning and late at night. Thankfully I’ve been able to sleep through his playtime, but I’m grateful for the kicks that remind me he’s doing well.
Symptoms – I have still been symptom free for the most part. The baby is sitting really high, so that has made me uncomfortable on occasion, but for the most part, I’m feeling really good. Our family has had a very stressful couple of weeks, so the biggest thing I’ve been facing is managing stress and staying calm. My blood pressure hasn’t been an issue, but I want it to stay that way!
Upcoming Appointments – In two weeks I have an ultrasound and my 28 week appointment/glucose test. I’m not too worried about my glucose test, but I know I need to focus on eating well these next two weeks (especially while in Texas). The past few weeks haven’t been bad, but I also haven’t put much thought or energy into what I’m eating. I try to make good decisions, but I want to pay closer attention leading up to my test and the end of this pregnancy.
Maternity Clothes – I bought some new black yoga pants, basic t-shirts, and a black skirt from Old Navy Maternity online and I LOVE them! As a plus size woman, I just love Old Navy and Lane Bryant. Both have great options and the clothes fit great. I should be set going into these last few months, especially as it gets warmer.
Food Cravings – I’m still loving pickled things, but I don’t think I’ve had any specific cravings lately. My tea cravings have subsided… sadly.
Workouts – I really didn’t workout much last week. It was a very stressful week and I just didn’t put the time or energy into working out. I did workout at OrangeTheory yesterday, which was awesome, but that was the start of week 27.
Sleep – My sleep has been pretty good. Once I get comfortable, I’m set. I’ve also found that I have to be cool enough to get a good night’s sleep. Sleeping with the windows open has been a dream!
Thoughts and Feelings – I am really, really eager to get to Texas and to relax. I need to get away from DC, to take some real time off work, and to clear my brain for these next few months. I really haven’t had any time to prepare for this baby’s arrival and I’m like to get into baby mode. I don’t have much to get done, but I have enough. I’m looking forward to ending the academic year, moving into the summer, and preparing for baby! Pregnancy wise, I really am feeling good! I want to get back on track with my workouts and diet these last few months after a weird few weeks, but honestly, I’m feeling good. I just don’t have the energy to be hard on myself. It hasn’t been an easy few weeks personally, but I know this trip to Texas and the start of the summer will be great for our family.
Looking Forward To – Our family vacation in Texas!! (our big pre-baby trip)
