Week 22 Overall – Week 22 was one of those weeks that just flew by and I didn’t feel all that pregnant because we were so busy. I started off week 22 preparing for the Tot Swap, a massive consignment sale here in Maryland. We sold things at the sale last November and decided to sell more at the March sale after finding out we’re having a boy. The preparation takes a good amount of time, but the sale itself is organize and makes selling things easy. The sale ran until Sunday night, when we picked up what wasn’t sold, and we ended up making $320. It was well worth the work to get everything there. The end of week 22 (Monday-Wednesday) was busy, but a good start to the work week.
Physically, I’m feeling alright. My workouts have been good, though I’ve definitely backed off a bit. I’m still working out at OrangeTheory twice a week, but I don’t push myself as hard on the treadmill. I’m still feeling good in the weight room and on the rowing machine though, which is great! I’m still feeling sore day to day, but I really just think that’s because I’m more active than I was during my first pregnancy and am running after a 2 year old. I know I’m feeling good overall though, which I am grateful for!
The Bump – I was looking at photos from my first pregnancy and I’m definitely carrying this baby differently. I’m feeling great and love my bump.
Weight Gain – This morning I looked up my weight gain from my first pregnancy and I’ve gained almost the exact same amount of weight at this point in my pregnancies. I’ve gain just about 15 pounds and am feeling pretty good. As an obese woman, I’ve read that most doctors will tell you only to gain 15-20 pounds, but my doctors said I’m doing good and they have zero concerns. I’d like to keep my weight gain to less than 30 pounds, but my weight gain has slowed down a bit since the first trimester when I was all about carbs! I’m trying to balance out my meals and to focus on protein, which is helping. All in all, I’m feeling good about my weight gain so far.
Gender – We’re having a boy!
Choosing a Name – Kid you not, my list is up to 17 names! I have a couple I love, but Neal and I are still thinking through options. It’s really fun choosing a name.
Movement – This baby is still pretty mellow. I feel him roughly twice a day and usually when I’m laying down. Every once and while, when I’m crunched over, he’ll readjust and I can feel him. I know he’s still little, but it’s fun feeling him move.
Symptoms – Aside from feeling sore, I haven’t had many other symptoms. I’ve had heartburn occasionally, but nothing like when I was pregnant with Magnolia. All in all, I felt great during week 22.
Food Cravings – My cravings were pretty mellow this past week. I still enjoyed tea, but I wasn’t having crazy tea cravings like the weeks before.
Meals this Week – I prepared most of my meals for the week over the weekend, including these delicious potato and chorizo tacos! I did eat out at Cava on Tuesday for lunch, which was delicious! It was a pretty simple week and I felt good diet wise.
Sleep – I slept much better last week! I’m sleeping with a king size pillow on my left side and feel most comfortable sleeping on that side. I often wake up on my back, which I know I need to stop doing, but hopefully I can make that shift in the next few weeks. My doctor recommended not laying on my back after 26 weeks.
