This past week of pregnancy was busy at the start and then quiet as it ended. I’ve been pretty absent this week, thanks to a cold I’ve been battling, so I thought I would recap my 23rd week of pregnancy day by day.
Thursday and Friday
After winning the quarterfinals of the Patriot League Tournament, I traveled to Bucknell with the women’s basketball team last Wednesday through Friday. While traveling, I ate out every meal, got some quality sleep away from home, and got a ton of work done on the road. I felt pretty good after coming home on Saturday, but it was important for me to get back on track after 3 days of eating out.
I returned from Bucknell around 12:30AM on Saturday and was up pretty early with Miss Magnolia. I missed her and was eager to get up to play with her. The day was quite mellow, getting things done around the house, going for a walk with Neal, Magnolia, and Theodore, doing laundry, and running errands. I knew we had a good chance of getting a snow storm on Tuesday, so I tried to beat the crowds and went grocery shopping.
I woke up Sunday with a nasty cold. Magnolia had a runny nose that started last week, but I was hopeful I’d skip this illness like the others. Since Magnolia and I were under the weather, we both stayed home from church while Neal went. After church we all took naps and watched some college basketball. It was a really mellow day, which was definitely needed! We ran a few more errands and enjoyed Sunday dinner together as a family.
As it is spring break at work and I have a couple weeks of vacation to burn before May 1, I took this week off. Monday was my only day by myself, so I made the most of it. I went to OrangeTheory at 5AM, took a nice long shower, made myself a big breakfast, took Magnolia to daycare, blogged, and ran to Homegoods. That afternoon I caught up on This Is Us and The Walking Dead before picking Magnolia up from daycare. It was a really nice and relaxing day, especially with being under the weather.
Neal worked from home on Tuesday and we enjoyed the snow. As Magnolia’s daycare was closed and the roads were icy, we stayed home all day. We played, made chili, watched a movie, and relaxed. It wasn’t as bad of a storm as they had predicted, but we still got a fair amount of snow here.
I closed out my 23rd week of pregnancy with a cleaning day. I woke up early, dropped Magnolia off at daycare, and then cleaned the entire house. It was a lot of work, but so worth it! Afterwards I grabbed lunch at Cava and then drove to BWI to pick my mom up from the airport. We picked Magnolia up on our way home and then made tacos for dinner before watching the Iowa basketball game. I got a ton done and was excited to see my mom.
Overall I’m feeling good pregnancy wise. This cold hasn’t been fun, but I’m finally feeling a little better. I still have a runny nose, but knock on wood, I’ll avoid the cough and chest cold. Today my sister comes to town and I’m looking forward to enjoying the weekend with my mom and sister. Here’s to my last few days of spring break!
