I have been a Relay Foods customer for a little over three years and each time I shop with them, I love them more and more! When I first became a mom, quite a few moms told me to stop grocery shopping and to start using a delivery service. I brushed off their advice, mainly because I enjoy grocery shopping and didn’t want to spend the extra money, but also because I didn’t think using a delivery service would lighten my load. While I still do most of my grocery shopping in store, there are many weeks where the convenience of Relay Foods helps to take a number of things off my to-do list.
This past weekend I ordered all of our groceries for the week ahead, plus a few yummy extras, from my phone! The Relay Foods website has an amazing mobile site and I loved being able to order everything from my phone. For the week, I knew I wanted to choose one recipe from their Meal Planner, wanted to order one of their seasonal vegetable boxes, and wanted to purchase a few odds and ends for the week.
This month, Relay Foods is running a special for new customers! All new customers will get $30 off their order of $60 or more! Every customer will also be able to earn $30 for referring a friend who spends $60 as a new customer! It’s a great special and an easy way to try out Relay Foods, while also getting $30 of free groceries!
For the week, I started by choosing the Thai Coconut Lemongrass Soup recipe and added all of the ingredients to my shopping cart… with the push of one button I might add. I love that you don’t have to add in everything one item at a time. You choose the recipe you want and then click “Add To Plan and Review”. From there you can remove any ingredients you might already have or change your product type (organic vs non organic for example). It’s amazing!
Next I added in the Local Fall Bounty Half Share, which included spaghetti squash, sweet potatoes, apples, apple cider, peppers, lettuce, and swiss chard. I love the Relay Foods Bounty Boxes because they’re like being a part of a CSA, but you can order it whenever you’d like to. I miss our CSA, but the Bounty Box is a great way to get seasonal veggies week to week.
Lastly, I added in a few odds and ends. I ordered some kimchi, sauerkraut, hummus, lemons, extra apples, and 2 Califia Farms almond milks. I submitted my order on Saturday and Tuesday afternoon everything arrived at my doorstep as scheduled! Everything was boxed up and on ice, so it was fine sitting on our steps until we got home.
Relay Foods serves the Baltimore and DC areas, most of VA, and also the Raleigh/Durham area of NC. If you’re in these areas, I highly recommend trying out Relay Foods! Relay Foods has a number of pick up locations or you can have your groceries delivered to your doorstep. The convenience of delivery is well worth the try! Remember, this month, new customers will get $30 off of a $60 purchase!
