The Bump –
Gender – We find out this morning!! I’m excited and anxious for our anatomy scan. It’ll be great to see the baby and I’m just praying the baby is doing well. Can’t wait to learn more about our baby.
Movement – I couldn’t believe it, but I felt the baby move this week! I first felt the baby on Monday, but was unsure as to whether or not it was the baby. Then I felt the baby again Tuesday and Wednesday, so I knew it was the baby! It’s really fun feeling the baby move.
Maternity Clothes – Is it spring yet? I’m ready to wear dresses all day, every day and sandals. I’m over pants and closed toed shoes! Next week is supposed to be gorgeous, so I’m sure I’ll wear a dress every day.
Symptoms – This week I started dealing with carpal tunnel, which is pretty painful. I dealt with it a little during my first pregnancy, but this week my hands have been going numb if I type too long, use my phone too much, or sleep in the wrong position. My doctor said it’s normal, especially at this point in pregnancy, so I’m hoping it’ll pass soon. I’m drinking tons of water and am just trying to be smart about my technology use.
Food Cravings – My cravings are so different this pregnancy, though I’m still loving everything bagels! This week my cravings for pickled items continued. I bought a big jar of pickled banana peppers and have been adding them to everything. So yummy! This week I also started craving iced tea and it has been fierce! Iced green tea, iced flavored tea, iced black tea… so yummy! Not the worst craving to have.
Meals this Week – I haven’t felt all that in control of my diet so I’m trying to get organized again and to plan out my meals again. My plan was to go to the grocery store last weekend, but I didn’t make it until Tuesday. I don’t know where I read it, but I am trying to have a piece of fruit with breakfast, a piece of fruit and at least 1 veggie for lunch, and at least two servings of vegetables with dinner. Since the holidays, there seem to be sweets everywhere I turn. I’m also trying to limit my sweet intake and to stay away from all of the cookies and candies around the office and around the house. I did a pretty good job this week, but I know I can be a little more disciplined moving forward.
Sleep – I slept much better this week. I pushed myself a little too much a couple of nights and went to bed too late. I really need to get 9+ hours of sleep these days, so staying up to watch all of the Grammy’s was a bad move… hence oversleeping OrangeTheory on Monday. I’m just glad to be sleeping better and I’m looking forward to my Saturday and Sunday naps!
- Thursday – Spin class
- Friday – OrangeTheory
- Saturday – Long walk with Neal and Magnolia
- Sunday – Rest day
- Monday – Overslept and missed OrangeTheory
- Tuesday – Rest day
- Wednesday – Walk with Theodore around the lake
Week 19 Overall – This was a pretty good week. The numbness in my hands hasn’t been fun, but I’m happy to be sleeping a little better and to be making the most out of my workouts. I’ve had a lot on my plate outside of pregnancy, so it’s honestly made the weeks fly by. I don’t mind having my mind off of pregnancy, but I also recognize needing to regain focus on my diet as I move further into the 2nd trimester. After working the past two weekends, I’m really looking forward to spending Friday through Sunday with Neal and Magnolia. It’ll be a great start to week 20.
In case you missed them, my pregnancy updates so far:
