The Bump – I think I have more of a food baby than a baby bump at this point in pregnancy. My stomach is pretty flat in the morning, but after I eat I get a pretty good bump growing. I didn’t really pop until 20 weeks last pregnancy, so I’m sure I have a few more weeks in me before I really start showing.
Gender – We’ll find out in a week and I can’t wait! I’m a little nervous for the ultrasound, just want to make sure the baby is doing well, but it’ll be great to find out the gender and to see the baby.
Movement – No movement yet. I actually dug through old blog posts last night and I didn’t feel Magnolia until 23 weeks. I’m sure there were small movements before then, but I really started feeling her kick at 23 weeks. I’m sure it’ll take just as long with this baby.
Maternity Clothes – I’m still wearing my regular clothes, but I do have one pair of maternity jeans I wear on weekends. My work pants are still fitting well, but I will happily move to dresses as it gets warmer. At this rate, that’ll be in a few weeks!
Overall Wellness – I’m feeling pretty good overall. Workouts are going great, my diet is ok, my sleep is ok, and I haven’t had any other pregnancy symptoms so far since the first trimester ended. Pregnancy aside, I think what’s impacting my sleep and diet the most is stress. Just having a lot on my plate and trying to balance it all. I’m doing ok weight wise. I’ve gained less than I did at this point in pregnancy with my first, which is nice. I’m trying to balance what I eat and to plan ahead, but some days I am a hot mess and end up having to grab something to eat while out and about. The slow cooker has been my best friend lately and I’m trying out new recipes every week, which is fun! All and all, I’m doing well! I’m just grateful I’m feeling well and that the baby is doing well.
Food Cravings – Honestly, the only think I’ve been craving is sweet tea, which is so random. They don’t even make sweet tea here in the DC area (compared to Texas). Otherwise I’ve been eating eggs most mornings with an English muffin, salads and soup or leftovers for lunch, and slow cooker meals for dinner.
Sleep – Most nights I sleep ok, but I have nights here and there where I just sleep horribly. I’m just uncomfortable and end up tossing and turning all night. I have a pregnancy pillow, that I hate, so I might need to splurge on a new one before I get too big.
Workouts –
- Thursday – Spin class
- Friday – OrangeTheory
- Saturday – Worked all day (walked a ton)
- Sunday – Rest day
- Monday – OrangeTheory
- Tuesday – Rest day
- Wednesday – Elliptical (40 minutes)
Week 18 Overall – I’m really looking forward to finding out the baby’s gender and to start preparing for the baby. I am quite overwhelmed by a few things in my life right now and I’m looking forward to being able to spend time preparing for the baby. I’m really looking forward to decorating and setting up Magnolia’s big girl room, transitioning her to her new room, and then decorating and setting up the new baby’s room. Just fun things to look forward to! Overall, week 18 was a good week! I’m feeling pretty good and am just praying for the baby as it grows.
